Jean Wells: Design and Play



If you are interested in exploring design ideas, this is the workshop for you. Techniques and process ideas will be introduced then we will work on several studies that will open your eyes for possibilities that you can put into your toolbox for future reference. The elements of design will be the foundation for day one and on day two you will put them to work on two or three small pieces.



A $10 supply fee will be due to the instructor upon arrival.


No refunds will be given if you are unable to attend this class, without exception.

Requirements:
You will NOT need your sewing machine until Day 2: Think about a palette of colors and textures that you are interested in exploring. Bring at least fifteen fat quarters or 1/8 yd cuts of fabric. Cut 15 piece of Wonder Under that are 3" x 15" and fuse on to each of the pieces of fabric. Trim around the edges. Medium size cutting mat Small or medium size rotary cutter with a new blade 6" x 12" ruler or larger Portable design wall with flannel on it Small fabric scissors and paper scissors Glue stick Scrap paper, magazine pages that can be cut up Three printed out photograph or cards that interest you in terms of color, line, and texture (inspiration) Journal or notebook Fine tip Sharpie pen Pencil Small scrap bag of fabric that you are willing to share with the other students Sewing machine in good working order and basic sewing supplies.
