Carolina Oneto: Imaginary Places



Immerse yourself in a transformative three-day workshop titled "Imaginary Places: Exploring Color Theory and Complex Piecing Techniques to Design Your Own Quilts."

Day 1:Participants will begin with an in-depth exploration of color theory, learning how to harness color to create depth in landscape designs. In the afternoon, focus will shift to mastering a diverse array of complex piecing techniques, such as working with curves, integrating inset round shapes, improv piecing and utilizing the freezer paper method for construction.

Day 2: The morning will be dedicated to participants as they start designing their landscapes, applying insights gained from color theory and piecing techniques. In the afternoon, they will begin piecing their designs together, translating their artistic visions into tangible quilt forms.

Day 3: This full day will be devoted to bringing designs to life! Participants will carefully select colors, shapes, and piecing techniques that embody their creativity, continuing the sewing process and watching their unique quilt designs gradually unfold.

This immersive workshop provides a platform to explore, experiment, and realize individual creative potential, empowering participants to craft stunning quilts that reflect their unique style and artistic voice.

Requirements: A sewing machine in good working order Basic sewing supplies i.e. pins, snips, threads etc... Painter's tape Notebook for drawing, color pencils (similar to the color of your fabrics) Washable glue with a fine point applicator (Roxanne's glue for basting). Do not bring a glue stick, this will not work. Ruler Paper scissors Fabric marker (erasable like chalk or water erasable) Rotary cutter with a new blade and a cutting mat Quilting ruler - 2 1/2" x 18" preferred Double tracing wheel Freezer paper - an entire roll 15" or 18" wide Fabric requirements will be sent in a separate supply list upon registering for class. All of the above supplies can be purchased at Stitch. Participants will receive a 15% discount on supplies purchased for the class.
